My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Soda Pop was TNR'd by a volunteer, and cared for outside for a year before he was brought to emergency for an abscess on his shoulder. He was very friendly, and hapily, we were able to admit him in March of 2013. He's quite handleable, and accepting of his situation here, but seems a little sad. He comforts himself by curling up with other cats in the room. Look for him, and offer some pets- he would really appreciate it! Soda Pop has mild hypertrophic cardiomyopthy. Soda Pop was born in 2007 and has tested positive for FIV*.

*Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) causes a weakening of the immune system in cats. It's often compared to human HIV, but FIV is not transferable to humans or other species. It is also difficult to transfer to other sterilized cats, and we believe that mixed FIV and non-FIV households can work if managed properly. If kept indoors in a stress-free environment, with regular medical care and high-quality nutrition, most FIV+ cats live long and healthy lives. Tree House staff can help answer your questions to see if an FIV+ cat is the right choice for you. FIV+ cats adopted from Tree House are eligible for a lifetime veterinary-care plan that includes a free annual exam and discounted treatments.
