Peggy's Story...
Peggy is everything you would want in a dog!

No Kill Central KY helps rescue animals that are scheduled for euthanization in the high kill shelters. Our NO KILL shelter will provide sanctuary for Peggy until she finds his Forever Home.

Peggy is a very loving young pup who is very attention seeking. She loves to be played with, taken on short walks to learn to potty outside, and she loves nothing more to take a big ole hug from you!

Peggy gets along well with other dogs and does not seek out the cats that we have free roaming the front shelter space. She will be very obedient and eager to learn.

Please come take Peggy to her Forever Home. No Kill Central KY is located at 214 Richmond Street, Lancaster, KY 40444. We are at our no kill shelter everyday of the week from 10:00am until 4:00pm.

No Kill Central KY fully vets each of the animals available for adoption. Our $150 adoption donation includes spay or neuter, 2 rounds of DA2PpV, Bordetella, Rabies, Worming, Frontline and LOTs of LOVE!

Remember that No Kill Central KY is a non profit shelter that houses the unwanted animals of central KY and beyond. We depend on your adoption donations & monthly donations to meet the needs of the animals. Please HELP save our shelter & the animals we care.

Thanks for making ADOPTION the OPTION the NO KILL WAY!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peggy, a Lancaster Rat Terrier/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Dachshund for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Dachshund breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
