Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet SAFE (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) Class XIV at WKCC (Western KY Correctional Complex). Seven dogs will spend two months in class 24/7 learning to be exceptional pets. These dogs will be housetrained, crate trained, neutered/spayed, on flea and tick preventative, on heartworm preventative, and up to date on all vaccinations. They will also learn manners (sit, stay, heel, etc.) and will able able to walk on a loose leash. Some even learn additional feats that will amaze, such as jumping through hoops and fetching a cold beverage. Applications will be taken until July 30 and may either be downloaded from www.safehavenky.org or you may email safehavenky@gmail.com and we will send you an application. The adoption fee is $150.00.
This is Paco, a year old Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mix. He is ten pounds of precious! Paco was a throw-away dog. He was adopted as a cute little puppy and when he grew out of the puppy stage, the adopters left him to his own devices (outside, on a chain). They finally took him to a shelter and the rest is history. We are happy to report that he has gotten back his joy and he loves to play, snuggle under blankets, and spend time with people and other dogs. A not so fun fact: Due to the popularity of Chihuahuas (Beverly Hills Chihuahua, the pocket Chi's in Legally Blonde, and Paris Hilton's purse), greedy backyard breeders have produced an overabundance of these precious animals and countless end up in shelters. They are the second most euthanized dog in the United States.
