Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Looking for a flashy young lass who is nothing if not a BC? Meet Glimmer! This blue merle girl with the semi smooth coat is just 5 ½ months old. Bred from working parents, Glimmer lasted just a few weeks with the woman who bought her. At 12 weeks, when her owner’s landlord would not let her keep her in the apartment complex where she was living, Glimmer fortunately ended up landing a safe spot with someone able to recognize her potential. She is now with WBCR and looking for a family to call her own!
Glimmer is a very sweet, polite little girl, on the shy side, with a strong work ethic. Although she is not a super confident little girl, Glimmer’s foster is working with her on that, and she is certainly making strides. It takes her a few minutes to warm up to new situations and people, but she continues to gain confidence with each training session. She gets along just fine with other dogs, she lives with 4 others in her foster home, although she does tend to be very herdy with them, which can be problematic. Glimmer can live with dog savvy cats, She does not appear interested in toys. Like many BCs Glimmer is very interested and excited by movement – she does show herding potential but has not been tested on livestock.
She is enjoying running in open fields with her canine family, doing agility, and working on her obedience skills. Glimmer would make a great candidate for an active adult and would love herding, or agility, or both!! She can go all day but is not hyper and is work orientated – she is a moderate energy girl, not over the top.
This sharp young lass is a good student and has learned quite a few skills already. Glimmer loves learning and is very food-motivated! She is housetrained, cratetrained, and has nice house manners. She walks pretty well on a leash and is learning basic manners (sit, stay, leave it, come when called) and agility in her foster home!!!!!!! She is happiest with a routine schedule and the predictability that comes with it. Glimmer will need an adopter up for continuing with her training. She will also do best with a family experienced with her interest in movement, and one who can channel her instincts and talents into appropriate outlets. Last but not least, she will also require an adopter who can continue with her socializing, so she can become a confident canine companion.
All in all, Glimmer is lovely young pup filled with potential. She will prove to be an excellent canine companion to those experienced with her kind, and will blossom in the right hands. If you are looking for a talented young dog and have the time, energy, and experience to raise a young one right, Glimmer may be the one for you.
Glimmer is up to date on shots and living in a loving foster home near Steamboat, CO.
