Bodie's Story...
Bodie was found alone at a bus stop in front of the projects in 5th Ward with hardly any hair, a belly full of parasites, and a severe case of k-9 scabies. A nice lady scooped him up and saved his life. At three months old, Bodie is 15 pounds and has fully recovered. He appears to be a sharpie mix and is now ready for his forever home. Bodie is a very smart high energy pup who gets along great with his foster family dogs and cats. He loves to play fetch, swim and eat peanut butter! Will you be his forever owner?
If you are interested in meeting Bodie please contact his foster mom at Rebecca.millhench@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application online at http://forgottendogs.org/adoption_application.html. Thanks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bodie, a Porter Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever for sale in Porter, or seeking a Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Porter.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Porter already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Porter breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Porter paves the way for another one to be saved.
