Satchmo's Story...
Whether you're doing yardwork, hiking the trails, or kicking back indoors, this easy-going lover just wants to hang out with you. Whatever's happening, he's there and he's loving it. He'd be a great companion for a single person, as well as a wonderful first-time family dog.

Breed mix according to his previous owner. From the look of him, it's pretty obvious that he's part Mastiff, even though he's very much on the SMALL SIDE at 'only' 85 lbs. We'll have to take the previous owner's word that his other half is bloodhound. Other than coloration, there's little about his looks, behavior and noise that is hound-like.

Quick to adjust. Once he knew he was safe, Satchmo wasted no time in making himself at home. He quickly learned the house rules and routines, and settled in as a member of the pack.
He bonds quickly and likes human company and being petted, although he's never needy.

Good with respectful children. We haven't observed Satchmo with small children, but we would have no hesitation in recommending him as a family dog. He's a gentle fellow who would enjoy living with kind, respectful children of all ages. Although he is a mellow dog, he has a sensitive side and will not suit a family where kids subject him to rough handling or teasing.

Great with other dogs. Satchmo lives as part of a large pack and gets along well with even the less friendly dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Satchmo, a Kennewick Mastiff/Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff/Bloodhound for sale in Kennewick, or seeking a Mastiff/Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Kennewick.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kennewick already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kennewick breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff/Bloodhound breeders who help with Mastiff/Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kennewick paves the way for another one to be saved.
