My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lil Buddy or Hercules is a super sweet pup. He's full of beans when at the dog park or outside, loves to play with toys in the house, adores your attention, pets, cuddles, and kisses, and just wants to please you and be the best puppy he can be. He learns very quickly, loves wrestling with his paws, and is really a sweet pup that is perfectly happy to be with his people. Lil Buddy is a young dog between 1 - 2 years and weighs just under 50 lbs.

Buddy is a young dog who loves everyone he comes into contact with. He loves to meet other dogs and children and is very gentle, although if he gets scared he will try to hide. He needs to be close to people and will follow around his foster family and curl up at their feet if they seem like they're going to be in one place for longer than five minutes. He thinks he is a lap dog and will climb up onto you and try to curl up if you let him. He even likes the little cats that live at his foster home and smells them when he thinks they aren't looking.

He is not aggressive or shy, but he is easily startled by sudden loud noises. He doesn't show signs of destructive separation anxiety. We set up our laptops and recorded him the first time we left and he just seemed to lay down and stare at the door until we came back. He is a very laid back dog and is happy to sleep and cuddle on the couch, but just as happy running around and playing. He doesn't shed too much, and it is not even noticeable as long as he is brushed now and then. He doesn't bark at all and is the quietest dog I ever met. We've only heard him bark once when he got really scared.

Hes very good at car rides and just lays down to go to sleep. He isn't leash trained, but hes getting there. He is extremely polite and will not chew anything or steal food. We even left him alone with dinner on a low table one time and he didn't try to eat any of it. If you do give him treats he is very polite and gentle and will carefully take it from your hand. He doesn't try to escape, but he will try to follow you out the door. We have been teaching him to step back from the door when we are leaving.

Herc (as we call him) is just a happy boy and always wants to have you close by, even if that means resting his head on the feet of an office chair! It also helps that he has the most adorable spot over one eye and super soft ears. He's super friendly with all dogs and people. He's super polite, but chews on shoes when he's bored. He needs toys and bones and mentally stimulating things. He is well on his way to being fully house trained and would be a great candidate for obedience school as he is intelligent and very eager to please. He would fit nicely into any family environment with ease, as long as he was loved.

If you would like to make Lil Buddy part of your family, please submit an application for consideration.
