My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stella is a real mystery mix of breeds, by the looks of her. We have no idea where she got those stand-up ears, maybe from a German Shepherd? Those ears tell her story, minute to minute! Stella is a young lady who so needs her very own home. She loves attention and just doesn't get enough, being one of many at the rescue ranch. She would love a home of her own with a big yard where she could hang out all day if no one is home.

Stella is 18 mos. - 2 years and weighs about 60 lbs. She is tall and lanky and very solid. She would do better in a home with older children as she is a little clueless about just how tall & solid she really is. Stella is high energy and will do well with lots of exercise and activity.

Stella has been through basic obedience class, which has really helped her social skills. She gets along well with other dogs although she can be domineering. She will also play a little rough so wouldn't do well with another dog that would not tolerate that.

Obedience class also helped Stella deal with new places and people, which tend to still scare her a bit. She will back away and crouch down but will not do well if back into a corner and feeling threatened. She is doing better and better but still needs her person to keep strangers from approaching her, especially in strange places. She warms up to women faster than men but will warm up to men as well, especially if they are dishing out the meals!
