My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Leon and I am a 6 year old who has had a pretty tough time in my short little life. I was rescued from a puppymill when I was 2 years old by a rescue group who adopted me to a family in Colorado. After 6 months the adopter wanted to return me because I was not good with young children. I was taken in by CJCR at which time I was treated for glaucoma. My eye pressure was so high, the vet couldn't believe I was so patient during my exam. CJCR took great care of me for the next year and got my eyes as healthy as they could be. I was than adopted by a woman who had me for 2 years. In August 2012, she contacted the rescue and stated that she had some health issues which would no longer allow her to care for me. So here I am back in rescue for the third time through no fault of my own. I am a sweet boy who loves to go for walks and rides in the car. I am a little shy when I first meet new people, but am very affectionate and loving once I get to know you. I do get eye drops daily, however now that my eyes are doing so well we are down to one type of drop a day. I am looking for an adult home where I am not left alone for long periods of time. I do great with other small dogs and cats. I know there is someone out there just waiting to make me their forever companion.
