Loki's Story...
This beautiful little boy was dumped in a ditch with his littermates. Fortunately, a good Samaritan saw these precious little pups and stopped to pick them up. They were taken to a local vet and then went into a FOR foster home. He is a Lab mix, and his foster family thinks that he is also mixed with Basenji. He is thriving in his foster home with his siblings and is learning all about soft beds, toys, and having plenty of food. Lokie is definitely a lap dog! It’s the first thing he does when he sees you; climbs right into your lap and starts licking your face to say hi! He can also live up to his name because he is very fun-loving! But he will be the first to abandon his adventures if you call for him. He loves romping around with his four siblings and the other three big dogs in his foster home. He is always following the bigger dogs around trying to earn their approval and mimic their habits. He always seems to be happy and curious and very eager to please. He is doing very well with potty training and is learning to love car rides and walking on a leash. This sweet little baby is looking for someone to call his own that will give him all the love and attention he deserves. Loki is fostered in Huntsville, AL. To learn more, please email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Loki, a Homewood Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
