Lucy's Story...
Lucy is a beautiful 13 year old female Pug. She and her housemate were turned into rescue when their owner could no longer care for them. Lucy is quite the lovebug as she wants to be in your lap or close by on the couch with a toy while you relax. She is active for an elder pup, but she also loves her naps – she will curl up with her stuffed duck and hug it while she sleeps. Lucy does have some arthritis in her back legs, but that doesn’t keep her from wanting to go for short walks; she will get super excited when you put her harness on and runs to the door. She is up to date with vaccinations, spayed, and working on housetraining.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Avondale Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Avondale, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Avondale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Avondale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Avondale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Avondale paves the way for another one to be saved.
