My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Skye is a beautiful 5-year old Rottweiler girl that has a history with ANML-RESQ. Back in 2011 during the Christmas season, we were asked to help a female Rottie. As her time was getting shorter and shorter at the shelter and we were elated to secure a foster home for Skye at the last second. Ever since then, Skye was dubbed as our Christmas Miracle. We were even happier when her foster home contacted us to let us know they wanted to adopt her officially. Unfortunately, Skye was in need to be rehomed through no fault of her own and once again we searched for a second foster home for her. Thankfully one of our great volunteers stepped up to the plate and lovingly opened her home to Skye and we couldn’t be happier for her. Now we just need to find Skye her new forever home.

Skye’s foster mom has nothing but good things to say about her, and while she would love for her to stay, living with cats and other female dogs is simply not an option for Skye. Since Skye does not do well with cats, we are not sure how she would be with small dogs. She does get along well with large breed male dogs and enjoys their company thoroughly.

Skye has many great qualities and has so much to offer; she loves people and children (10 and over), and demands to be loved upon by strangers while out on walks. She lives for belly rubs, snuggling, and playing with her favourite toys for hours on end, and last but not least, is happiest being close to her people. Skye is a very well-mannered girl, walks well on leash, does not jump up on people, is housetrained, spayed, and up to date on vaccines. Though she does have some deformity in her front leg, this has caused absolutely no issue with her mobility - within days it ceases to be something one notices at all. Skye has adapted and functions as an entirely normal sweet Rottweiler girl.

A quick quote from Skye’s foster home says it all: “Of all the foster dogs we have had, Skye is the easiest most mannered and funniest dog we have had”.

If you feel that Skye is the girl for you, please fill out an adoption application or contact us at anmlresq@hotmail.com
