Rain was born in Feb 2013. She and her siblings Splash and River were rescued from a river bank.Apparently this place in Alto is a known dumping ground for unwanted pets. The person who initially spotted the kittens was fishing when he saw 8 of them. He fed them fish he had caught and they devoured it. Despite the fact it was less than 24 hours by the time we rescued them, only 3 were found. The area has coyotes and none of the 5 missing kittens were found. The person who located the kittens is familiar with the area and searched for 2 hours.
River and his sister Rain were in ok condition, but Splash was very dehydrated and too weak to move from the tree stump where she was wedged. Only because the rescuer called and called did she hear the kitten crying and located her. Although they look big, they are only 4.5-5 months old and still very much kittens. Unable to hunt for food or defend themselves, they would not have lasted much longer on their own. Why people would dump animals at all, anywhere, still makes us angry. But since we have no idea who did this, we will focus on the good part: we were able to save these three and they will find homes through our Adoption Program.
River, Rain and Splash are all very sweet and social kittens, now ready for adoption!
All of our kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites.
