EDIE's Story...
EDIE is a four month old rat terrier mix puppy. Edie is playful, affectionate, and totally lovable! She's still very young, so Edie is working on learning all her doggy manners, including potty training, but she's making progress. She loves to be held and snuggled, and she's great with kids of all ages, other dogs, cats, and strangers. We think she's perfect!

EDIE broke her leg before she was born, and it healed a bit shorter than her other legs. It causes her no pain and doesn't need medical treatment, but she does walk primarily on her three other legs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

EDIE, a Chicago Rat Terrier/Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Chihuahua breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
