Medel's Story...
Meet Medel – This tiny Chihuahua mix was running down the Harrisburg Metro Rail 4th of July evening near Medel's Ice House at Harrisburg Blvd, Houston, TX. When we pulled over she was glad to be scooped up. It was very obvious she was terrified of the fireworks and noise. No collar or tags and had a little head rash along with a hurt leg that ended up a small splinter in her foot and removed. Super loving and an absolute lap dog who in an instant was relieved to be removed from that fear.

She is approximately a year old, weighs 5.2 lbs. She is completely vetted, spayed and microchipped. We have her in boarding at the wonderful Sophie's Doggie Spa, but she still needs a foster or adopter. If you can help Medel, please email:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Medel, a Houston Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Houston, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
