Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Buddy is a handsome purebred 5 year old male Border Collie weighing between 40-50 lbs, who needs to find a home without the temptation of chasing livestock or chickens. Buddy has taken to herding the livestock on the farm that he now lives on, and is herding the neighbor’s livestock as well. While this could be a good thing for some pet owners, it is not a good thing for where Buddy lives right now. It is breaking the hearts of his family who has loved him for so many years to have to rehome him. Buddy is a dog that ants very much to please his owner. He is incredibly smart and knows many commands. He is housetrained, leash trained, crate trained, loves to go for car rides, swim, run with the 4 wheeler and sleep next to your feet or under your bed. He is a very sweet and loving dog who is calm and quiet in the house. Buddy is good with other dogs, however like a lot of Border Collies, sometimes his instincts kick in, and he tries to herd his playmates. Not all dogs like this behavior and a watchful eye by the new owner is recommended when he is playing with other dogs. Buddy does growl under his breath to another dog nearby his food bowl if he is eating and they come close. He does not do this to people. The home Buddy lives in now is in a rural area, and his owners have chickens and small livestock nearby. This is just too tempting for Buddy. Buddy is used to children, but due to his high herding drive we recommend a home with older children (above 8) so that he does not scare a young 3 year old running in the yard. Buddy will make a new owner, in the right setting, the greatest companion. HHS. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. CONTACT US AT 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com
