Jeffrey's Story...
Jeffrey is a 15 lb, 1 year old poodle mix (we believe possibly with schnauzer). Jeffrey is mildly heartworm positive and needs a quiet home to recover while he undergoes treatment - he should be completely rid of the heartworm disease in 4-6 months. Jeffrey is super dog and cat social and would love to have fur-siblings, but will not be placed with children under 8. He came to us with his hair so severely matted that we had to shave his entire body - it took a total of four hours! He's a happy-go-lucky guy who has tons of puppy energy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jeffrey, a bridgeport Poodle (Miniature)/Schnauzer (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature)/Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in bridgeport, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature)/Schnauzer (Miniature) dog from a breeder in bridgeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in bridgeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a bridgeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature)/Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature)/Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in bridgeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
