Lola's Story...
This girl is a heartbreaker. Lola, a beautiful golden retriever mix was found tied to a pole. She is underweight, just had a litter of pups and is very frightened. She has not an ounce of aggression in her though. Though tmid, all she wants to do is make friends with people and other doggies. It doesn't take long for her to come out of her shell. Just after two days of being brought into the shelter she started to play with one of the volunteers. She doesn't really know how to walk on a leash but she is learning =) This beautiful girl needs a home where she be loved and feel secure to truly blossom. If you would like to adopt Lola or would like an appt to meet her please fill out our application from www.bobbicares.petfinder.org and email it to bobbicares2@aol.com Thank you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lola, a Freeport Golden Retriever/Bernese Mountain Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Bernese Mountain Dog for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Bernese Mountain Dog dog from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Bernese Mountain Dog breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Bernese Mountain Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
