Hello, my name is Jiggers; however everyone calls me Jiggs. Are you looking for a very handsome man in your life that can give you a lot of love and smother you with hugs and kisses? If so, that is me. I am a male standard wirehaired Dachshund, and I weigh approx 28 pounds. I’m 3 years old, am neutered, micro chipped and up to date on all my vaccines.
My fur is wheaten in color and very soft. I’m very cute - everyone who meets me tells me that. I am just a real little love bug, and I love to lay beside or on my Foster Mom on the couch for cuddles and a belly rub every chance I get. My foster mom lets me sleep in her big bed with her and I just love that! I am a typical Dachshund and think I am a person with my head on your pillow and my little paws wrapped in your arms. I am fully housebroken. I love to play with my toys and get along with all the dogs I meet. I love to go for walks (I’m strong and pull, especially at the start of a walk but am better behaved with a harness). I sometimes bark at motorcycles, bikes, runners and dogs on TV, but I am working on this (when my foster mom bends down and tells me “no”, I kind of listen). Oh, and another thing that I need to work on is chasing cats. It doesn’t happen all the time though - it depends on the cat. I am not destructive so I can be given full run of the house.
I think my ideal home would be a one where someone is home during the day. I get a little upset and cry when you leave the house because I want to be by your side at all times, so it would be best if my home is a single home. Please give me a chance and loving patience and I promise you I will be your best furry companion.
