Gonzo 14779-c's Story...
Gonzo came into the TC SPCA with wounds on his two hind legs and nose. All of these wounds were cleaned out and explored in surgery and he was monitored closely post-op to ensure they healed well. Gonzo may walk a little bit different in his hind limbs, but he is able to use them well and get around just fine. He may be a little tense when being picked up, simply because of the awkwardness and possible discomfort left over from the wounds, but he still wants you to notice him and is a little sensitive about the wound area. But he's a talkative and social boy and we think he would do well in a home with children older than six years who would know not to do anything to stress his hindquarters. As Gonzo continues to improve, he might also engage with the toys he only watches now. This handsome young man deserves a great home and lots of love after what must have been a rough time; might that be YOUR home?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gonzo 14779-c, a Ithaca Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Ithaca, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Ithaca.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ithaca already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ithaca breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ithaca paves the way for another one to be saved.
