Sammy's Story...
Black Lab mix Sammy is all about fun. She bounces and romps and kisses, sometimes all at the same time. At 7 months old, she has a lot of puppy energy and she loves to show off and learn about the world around her.

Sammy’s ideal owner is someone who will keep her busy, teach her which things on the floor are ok to chew, and give her a lot of hugs. Her puppy manners are good, so she’d be a good – albeit boisterous – playmate for children.

Sammy is a part of our Pets from Vets program; she was turned in as a stray to AZ Animal Wellness, and we’re helping them to find her perfect new owner. Will it be you?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sammy, a Gilbert Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
