Rufus's Story...

Rufus was transferred to ACL from another shelter due to space. This friendly and outgoing guy is a very special cat. Rufus has an all around great personality and he is a cat that has special needs. Rufus has diabetes; however it is controlled and managed with the proper diet. Rufus will require an adopter that can be vigilant for the signs of diabetes. They must also commit to ensuring Rufus is fed the proper diet or he would most certainly become diabetic again. Rufus has the sweetest personality and would love to be apart of your home. He enjoys his cat tree thoroughly for lounging around and viewing the world from a tall spot. He has no child age restrictions and would be perfect for any home. Rufus enjoys a glamorous lifestyle and will require brushing on a regular basis. He cannot be in a home with dogs because he does not like them. Rufus also has a special adoption fee of $50.00.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rufus, a Oak Park Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Oak Park, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Oak Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
