My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Big girl Buttercup is a real sweetheart. She's about 13.5 pounds although not overweight, just a bigger girl. Buttercup is a bit older and she came to us from a very, very hard life. We believe this because of the hernia she had hanging down between her legs. It was bigger than a softball and kept her tail from going up in the classic pom fashion. She was the dirtiest dog I think I have ever seen and she had burrs buried deep between the pads of her rear paws. Her paw pads are also very dry and cracking as if she's spent her entire life out on concrete. This sad gal is now coming out of her shell and does put her tail up like a real pom when she is excited and meets other dogs. She came here with another problem and that was horrible kennel cough which due to her depleted condition turned into pneumonia. Well we had to get her past that to get her hernia/spay surgery. She came through the surgery just fine but has since developed a persistant cough that she hasn't been able to kick yet. We will be going back to the vets to try something new very shortly. However, if she knew she had the love and support of a home and family maybe that would help to bolster her spirits so she would get better much quicker!!! We would love to see Buttercup get a home even though she's a work in progress!
Buttercup's Adoption fee is negotionable for the right home.
