Shaggy's Story...
I got this funny name because I am shaggy! Very shaggy. I'm kind of goofy so maybe they named me after that goofball Shaggy from Scooby Doo? Well, I am a Golden Retriever/ Great Pyranees mix of a lovable boy! Just about 4 years old, I can dance and play with the best of them. I am a healthy 85 pounds - most of which is fur - but I am big boy. I found myself at a shelter in Kentucky because my mom became ill and could no longer care for me. Actually it's for the best because I hear great things about being adopted from a family like you! I have pretty good manners - I don't jump on people. I know sit and stay too. I am working on my house manners - becoming crate trained. I really like my foster siblings - they are fun. Wow - I am quite the catch!

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transport

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shaggy, a Roanoke Goldendoodle/Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Goldendoodle/Great Pyrenees for sale in Roanoke, or seeking a Goldendoodle/Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Roanoke.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Roanoke already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Roanoke breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Goldendoodle/Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Goldendoodle/Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Roanoke paves the way for another one to be saved.
