My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Quinn, an absolutely beautiful true heitz 57 likely a mix of American Pit Bull Terrier and Shepherd. However, everyone loves to guess what Quinn is… some see Lab, others Weimer or Boxer=) Quinn is approx. 14 mths old, sporting a gorgeous tan coat with a blue tint, a blue muzzle and nose (making her a bluenose), blue eyeliner around her eyes and white accents (just look at those socks). She’s a tad leggy right now, in an awkward stage of growth and thin but is putting on some needed pounds. She will fill in soon to be an absolutely stunning young lady!!!
Sweet Quinn was found as a stray, alone on a busy inner city street with nowhere safe to rest her tiny weary body, no shelter from the elements (hot and rainy days), no food, or water, or family (not human or canine) to guide her. From the streets, she found herself in an overpopulated shelter where although she had a roof over her head, food and water, she spent her days in a run surrounded by a different kind of chaos, not the chaos of city noise and smells but the chaos of shelter noise and smells. Imagine the panic of the other animals around her and the emotions that must have run through her mind and heart as she listened. Although the shelter tries, their resources are limited, if Quinn were lucky, she’d get a few walks a day and maybe a little playtime but not enough interaction for a young mind and body.
Quinn waited at the shelter, watching puppies younger then she (8-12 wks is more popular than 6-8 mths) being scooped up, watching as many of the small dogs were placed and even watching med-large adult dogs (the pure breeds: Labs, Sheps, Bulldogs, etc) being placed. Then came Quinn’s day… Quinn’s day was not the kind of day you’re thinking, it wasn’t the day her adopters came. It was the day Quinn would find herself at risk of being euthanized… but that she was remember. Remember by one of our volunteers who met her a month prior on intake. Our volunteer was not there for Quinn and we didn’t have space… Rescue too is running out of resources and are so full these days=(
“Well hello Quinn!!! It’s so nice to you see you little one, accept, what are you still doing here?” The volunteer spoke out loud to Quinn and a shelter staff member answered… And that is how we have Quinn!!! Quinn is in a foster home now where she is catching up on all the things she’s missed out on thus far. She loves attention and gives such sweet gentle kisses to show her appreciation. Quinn is adjusting well. She is doing well with crate-training and housebreaking. She loves to play in the backyard and is sweet with the children. She’s learning boundaries with her new canine companions who are great mentors and is even polite (puppy polite so the kitty may not agree entirely but is understanding) with the family cat. Quinn has been spayed, is fully vaccinated for her age, is HW negative, microchipped, healthy and ready to go home. What Quinn needs now more than anything is a forever home of her very own where she can share her puppyhood and grow into a beautiful adult! She needs a person or family that can provide a good balance of love, attention and continued training and discipline (what puppy doesn’t need that). In return Quinn will provide lots of love!!! Please don’t let Quinn wait any longer!!! Apply today!!!
