Alabaster's Story...
Born in 2012, this fancy lad loves attention and naps. With his feather duster tail and Marilyn-esque beauty mark, elegant Alabaster is a strapping young cat. While in the kitten room he was like a father to the little ones, and he is still quite the sweetheart. Look for him peeking out of a basket like a wise owl, or grooming his silky fur. He may approach you with his plumed tail held high and a curious gaze. His kind and mellow temperament would make him a perfect addition to a home with no cats, or one with a few friendly felines. Give his downy fur some petting, and spend some time with this gracious gentleman.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alabaster, a Chicago Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
