My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Minnie

-- 8 month old female, not spayed yet (had a cold when coming out of the
shelter) but will be before placement when cold/kennel cough is completely
cleared up

-- currently only around 28 pounds (even full grown she will be on the small
side of medium;

-- no prior history known (shelter pull)

-- simply adores people (kids, too)

-- very high prey drive (even dives into the foster's pond after the
resident fish :-)

-- does not like small dogs and cannot be trusted around them

-- good with the foster's similar-looking female dog; that dog gets along
with everyone

-- dominant with that dog in the sense that Minnie, the foster, will push in
to get attention when the people are petting Suzy, however Minnie doesn't
growl or otherwise completely exclude Suzy (again, though, Suzy is one who
gets along with everyone; in other words, no bossy behavior is required, so
she's not a real test). But overall, Minnie seems good with dogs her size
and larger

-- housetrained + has known how to use the doggie door from day 1 in the
foster's home; clearly was allowed in her former owner's home

-- because of the small-dog aggression, the foster has not yet let her
off-leash when out on hikes

Here is a 7-31-13 update from foster mom:

"In short: She is a great dog. And cute, too. In detail: She is very
affectionate and will show her love with kisses and more kisses. She is more
into people than other dogs. In an ideal world, she'd be hunting birds all
day and sleep in her owner's bed at night. In the real world, she does very
well in our house and yard, uses the doggie door, never had an accident
indoors and knows how to relax. She is a little bit leash aggressive, (tail
between legs and crouching when other dogs approach) but she does GREAT in
the dog-park (on the large dog side, she is too sophisticated for smaller
dogs and not gentle enough with the submissive type). She is not fussy about
her diet, likes almost everything, especially home cooked chicken soup...
and bones,,, and salmon skin. Yeah, dog-food, too. She doesn't chew on
anything except bones. She knows how to relax. She was okay being left alone
for a couple of hours, but would probably come up with ideas to entertain
herself if left too long by herself. She is really into goldfish...

Not afraid of water or heights. Likes to sleep next to her people and plays
well with the resident dog. Occasionally get's car-sick (depending on your
driving), but if, only on the way to the destination, not on the way back.
It's the excitement."
