My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a Shelter Pull Kitty! This means that when you adopt me, FOF can save another kitty from a high kill county shelter.'

"Thank you Karen N for being Thunder's monthly sponsor until he finds a forever home!"

Thunder here is a vocal, ankle twirling, pet me NOW kind of cat. He was born in Oct 2011. He is very accustomed to multiple cat housing situations, and has never started a fight with anyone. He does have a great deal of energy and 'zest for life', and will do best in a home where he can both receive the attention he craves, and be given daily interactive playtime. Here at FOF he is known as 'Thunder from down under' and we think will make some lovely lady a very good companion!

This gorgeous 'mini panther' is one of many cats we have pulled from shelters this year alone. He was deemed semi-feral, which equates to a death sentence. We agreed with that temperament assessment for the first month we had him in our care. He stayed glued to the back corner of his cage, ears flattened to the side, emitting a low growl anytime we opened the cage to clean litter and give food. After we had him neutered, we had him set to go to a barn home with 2 other ferals. Then we asked for sponsors for each of the hoarding case cats. Karen sponsored his neuter, and named him Thunder. In one day, this kitty turned friendly. He was moved from 'barn cat relocation list' to 'adoptable'. Apparently he needed an identity and the name gave him one.

This is not the first time a cat has turned friendly on a dime. We have had others who were set to return home via our TNR program, and literally as we are getting the carrier ready, they decide they want to stay. Coincidence? You decide.
