My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LULU. Update. Such a wonderful turnaround. Lulu was seriously injured but with loving foster care she is now just a gem. continues to amaze. You would never know that she was so severely injured not too long ago. She loves her ‘walkies’ and we are able to go on longer and longer walks without an issue. Also, now that she is feeling oh so much better, her sparkling personality is really starting to shine! She is sweet and loving to us, to our pups, and to all she meets – people and dogs alike. We attended a 100+ person BBQ this weekend and she loved it! She was right in the thick of it saying hi to everyone she met and showing off her doxie ability to ‘sit pretty’ for as long as it took for total strangers to snap her picture and/or give her treats. She is such a little ham! Now that she is doing so much better and Labor Day is done and gone, it’s time to help her lose a little weight. As with everything else, I have no doubt she’ll shine at this as well. What a little love!
Lulu. Beautiful red smooth spayed female tweenie dachshund (17 pounds, 4 years old). Sweet and loving personality and oh so deserving of a wonderful forever home. Are you her Angel?

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues. All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training. Can you give her a happy, carefree life that she deserves? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
