Kate's Story...
Hi there, I'm sweet Kate and I am brand new to Young at Heart. Life has been hard lately, my family left me behind at a local shelter and I'm adjusting to life without them. Despite all of these changes, I am the sweetest girl. I love head rubs and I am just so gentle. My new friends at the rescue are helping me to learn that everything is going to be OK, and as each day passes they can see me starting to relax and enjoy my new digs. I am 7 years young, a four-paw declaw, healthy, good with my litterbox and love to snuggle up in my comfy bed. The stress of all the recent changes in my life has made me a little thin, but as I settle in my appetite is picking up and I am loving all the canned food and extra treats the volunteers are giving me. I'll be plumped up in no time!! My bio will be updated as the volunteers get to know me better but please don't hesitate to come meet me. I'm a really sweet girl who can't wait for the day when I can settle into my new life with my forever family. So, please don't wait, come meet me soon! Lots of love, Kate.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kate, a Palatine American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Palatine, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Palatine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palatine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palatine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palatine paves the way for another one to be saved.
