Willis is a Chihuahua/dachshund mix who was rescued from a puppy milli. He has adjusted to human touch and attention and actually enjoys having his head and ears scratched. However, he is still very shy upon first meeting. He gets along well with other dogs. Willis uses a doggy door and a piddle pad. He is around 2 years old and weighs 14 pounds. He is up to date on vaccinations including bordatella for kennel cough, neutered and spayed, heartworm negative and being kept on heartworm and flea/tick prevention to maintain their good health. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application.
You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.
After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not meet he/she will be adopted to that home.
Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
