MEET JOEY! Joey is a very young, sweet and very goofy fellow. He loves it when we talk to him; he rolls over and smiles. Joey came to his foster home knowing pretty much nothing; a blank slate. Joey is eager to please and has learned so much and so quickly.
He got the doggie door immediately and goes potty outside. In just a couple days, he was sleeping quietly in his crate overnight although he sleeps with us now. He learned "come", "sit", "wait" and "load-up" with consistency. He is working on "quiet" and "leave it".
Joey was rescued from the shelter on his last day. He came to us with many fears and is finding, one fear at a time, that the world is a safe and loving place to be. Joey has overcome separation anxiety and is working on fear of strangers and big dogs. We think he just was not exposed to much because with repetitive exposure to things that make him anxious, he becomes no longer fearful. Joey wants so badly to be cuddled and petted, you can see how very conflicted he is when meeting new people.
Joey loves to go for walks, rides well in the car, and adores toys of all kinds. He greets every morning with contagious joy and smothers us with hugs and cuddles. If we don't play with him he finds his favorite toys and throws them around and chases them himself. Joey is a big, strong, active and breathtakingly gorgeous chocolate boy. He stands almost 15 inches tall at the withers.
We are looking for a home that will continue to help Joey over his fears and love him unconditionally. His perfect home would have a yard to sun and play in and other small dogs to play with and keep him company. No apartments or children under twelve for this very active and alive boy. Joey would make a good jogging or agility partner.

Arrangements can be made with the foster parent; however, it is a requirements that the Adoption Application be completed and approved first.
