Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bio Update 8/12/13: Hobbes is working on some trust issues currently and is doing well with both foster mom and foster mom's 93 year old mother, whom Hobbes adores!! He is well mannered, knows sit, stay, come, go to your bed and answers by barking when I ask, "is it time to eat"?. He lets me know he has to go out by barking at the door or coming to me and barking and then running to the door, is totally housebroken and has never had an accident in the house. Hobbes does not like his fur brothers and will need to be the only dog in the home. He loves to go for walks and behaves very well on leash. He doesn't pay much attention to other dogs on walks, usually only looking at them and continuing to walk. He does like for other people to pay attention to him, but is still very scared when someone moves their hand toward his face, which is part of his trust issues. It would be best for Hobbes to have an experienced adopter that is "the pack leader" so Hobbes doesn't feel that he needs to be the leader. He likes a quiet home and will follow his person around all over the house. He loves to sit next to his person or lay in his bed. Hobbes does prefer a routine and needs a little time to get used to anything new going on in the house.
Initial Bio 7/22/13: Hobbes is an 8 year old, 14 pound Silkie Terrior that came to United Yorkie Rescue when his owner became unable to care for him due to her health problems. Hobbes is currently a shy boy and is slightly fearful in his new situation as he was very bonded to his previous owner. He appears to prefer women to men and becomes nervous around other dogs. He is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. We will continue to get to know Hobbes and update on him soon.
