My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I’m a sleek black Cadillac called Danny.
I'm a little shy, but once I get to know you, it's smooth sailing.
Top speed, 45 mph, and I corner as smooth as an Olympic speed skater. I’m leaving speed behind in favor of comfort. I’ve heard whispers about plush doggie beds and nifty couches, just the right size for a greyhound. If I’m a lucky dog, maybe you will have a bed large enough for this handsome male to sneak up onto one corner, YEA! Don’t bark that too loud, I gotta ease them into the idea.

Danny is not cat tolerant and his small dog status is unknown.

FOSTER UPDATE:

Danny is coming along nicely but is still pretty shy. He loves to be petted and brushed but he will not come to me, I have to go to him when he is on his bed. He loves his bed and he really enjoys running around in the back yard. He has found the toy box and enjoys taking all the toys out, but as those before him he never puts them back. He has also learned his name. Sadie, my grand dog, has been gone for two days now and I really don't see any difference in him with or without her. Danny is behaving very well in the house. He has never had an accident in the house and he has learned the word "outside" and when he wants to go out he gives a couple of little puppy yelps and I let him out. He has a big dog bark for other things. He recognizes a change in the tone of my voice when he is doing something that is not allowed, i.e. chewing on furniture. So far he has not damaged anything while I am gone. I take precautions such as putting things out of reach and not leaving things around for him to be tempted. Over all he is a really good boy. He has a very sweet and soft personality and I know with some time he will make a wonderful pet for someone. He is only 2 yrs. old and the things he is experiencing now is what an 8 week old puppy experiences. Time and patience is all he needs.
