Star's Story...
Star is a 6 yr old spayed brown and white female cocker spaniel. She was used for breeding purposes but those awful days are behind her. Star was abandoned by her family at a grooming facility. Star is shy when you first meet her but is very sweet. Good with kids and good with other dogs. She loves toys & treats. Star is crate trained and rides great in a car. She is working on her housebreaking and would love to find a family that she could live with forever. If you are interested in this girl, please email her at Star@sparkyrescue.com or call 270-684-4787.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Star, a Owensboro Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Owensboro, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Owensboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Owensboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Owensboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Owensboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
