My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet adorable Spike! He looks like Bambi or Rudolph! Spike was rescued from a high kill shelter. He was very underweight and timid. Can't be sure, but it appears as if he was never out of a cage. He had never seen grass or cars and didn't walk easily. He came in as a stray; dirty and in tact. He had severe dental issues, so before he came to his foster home, he was neutered, micro chipped and had a dental cleaning with some tooth extractions.

Spike has turned out to be one fun dog! He is full of energy and runs in the back yard all the time! He loves toys and will play fetch all day if he could. He is a little guy weighing 4.5 lbs and is approx. 8 years old. Spike is very lovable and will shower you with kisses. He would benefit by having a family who is home most of the time. He's a great watch dog and will let you know when someone comes to the house. Spike needs an owner who will play with him and take him for walks. No exception! Children are OK if they are experienced with handling dogs. Spike will do well with another SMALL friend as he has learned to play with his other foster dogs but not a must.

The ideal home will be one on a quiet street with minimal activity. Since he had never been on a walk, he will need training as he will bark and try to chase cars and pulls to go after them. He also hadn't seen a vacuum cleaner or hair dryer and will bark and try to get it. Patience is a must as he still will cower if approached too quickly. He most likely was mistreated. Spike is house trained but occasionally will mark due to the other male dogs in the house. He travels well in the car and will make an excellent companion! He enjoys meat, fruits and veggies!

Serious inquires ONLY to request an application. Spike's adoption fee is $350.00
