My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When George woke up that sweltering day in July he did not realize that his family planned to walk him 18 blocks to an open access shelter. When he arrived he collapsed from heat exhaustion and was fortunately revived by the staff at the shelter. Despite this sad beginning to his journey, this 7-year-old, neutered male, basset/lab mix does not want pity. He is far too happy a little boy for any of that! Since being rescued by Young at Heart, George's journey is now a happy one. He doing beautifully in his foster home and is now joyfully awaiting for his forever family. George is a healthy boy and a blonde bundle of wiggle. Everything makes him happy including walks, meals, treats, playing in the yard and most of all people. Georgie loves people! He also gets along well with other dogs, is great on the leash, is housebroken, is fine with being crated and is an all-around wonderful dog. If your life could use a little extra sunshine George may be the perfect dog for you!
