Koda's Story...

Koda came to us through a surrounding shelter. He was so sad when we were sent his picture that just because he was not full doxie, we had to save him. He is part long hair dachshund and we think part sheltie or something like that. He is very friendly with all people. loves. loves. loves to ride in the front seat of the truck. He is house and crate trained, neutered, current on all shots but is on a 30 day regimen of  doxicyclin, an antibiotic for the first stages of erlichiosis  which is a tic disease. He is healthy and not in any way in any trouble due to this. he just wants a home that will let him go for car rides and play with kids and be allowed to come in side. Because he is black he over heats easier

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Koda, a Lubbock Dachshund/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Lubbock, or seeking a Dachshund/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Lubbock.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lubbock already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lubbock breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Dachshund/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lubbock paves the way for another one to be saved.
