My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I have had a storied past…oh ya, there are some stories I could tell! See I came here from South Korea, where myself and several of my canine pals were rescued from a slaughterhouse. Yep, you heard me right. As you can imagine, being prepped as someone’s meal as opposed to their companion has left me a little uneasy of people. I have seen the good and the bad in humans, and I know that I want a lot more of the good in my life. Not only am I just learning to trust people, I am also just now learning English commands and words, so there's sure to be a little learning curve that will require patience and true commitment…With my new life I was given my new name, “Hopi”. It is exactly how you could describe me, Hopi! As I have so much hope, that the perfect, patient, caring and understanding family will come along and show how great it can be to be dog. Hopi, of course is the name of the Southwestern Native American Tribe. The name meaning “the peaceful people” or “peacful little ones”…. I am a peaceful little one and look to share my peace with a new forever family. Sure, I am a little socially awkward and have some trust issues. But I get along pretty well with other dogs and sturdy kids 10+ who know how treat me with respect. There are so many things that I don't yet know, things that I am just learning; how to give & receive affection, and how to just be a “dog”. But I can tell ya, I already know that I don’t like cats! I am thankful for the opportunities I have been given, and all of the new things I am learning- like walking on leash and crate training …and everyday the folks tell me how proud they are of me, and all the progress I am making…even if it's slow going. Please watch my story below- you'll even see my handsome face at the end; maybe you could consider showing me the happy ending that I am so Hopeful for ? 3 years old-88lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes; microchip, neuter , reduced cost Training Class, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.
