Chewy's Story...
"Hello, friends! My name is CHEWY, and I'm an adorable, happy three-year-old Long-Haired Chihuahua. I'm the ultimate snuggle-bug, and my favorite spot will be in your lap. I love to cuddle, and I sure love those belly rubs! It takes me a little while to get to trust someone, but once I do, I'll give that person all of my love and kisses. Because of that, and my small size, I'd do best in an adult home. I'm certain that I can be the perfect little lap dog that you've been looking for. I enjoy the company of other dogs, and I love to play, too. The shelter staff isn't sure yet if I've been house trained, but I promise to try to learn when we get home. Maybe I'll just need a refresher course. I'll be waiting patiently here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter, so please hurry on over so we can get better acquainted. The shelter has a really nice yard where we can spend some time getting to know each other. I have a feeling that once you hold me in your arms, you'll never want to let me go. Love, Chewy" Kennel #29

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chewy, a El Cajon Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
