My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 09/12/2013*** Little Piggy is doing great and making great strides every day. She is weighing in at about two pounds. Her vision is better than we could have ever asked. She can see toys and other items over 16 feet away, run with purpose to the toy, throw it in the air, and keep on running without ever missing a beat. Piggy's eyes are super sensitive to light, and overhead lights, like those found in bathrooms and kitchens, cause her to squint and seem to hurt her. She does much better when lamps with lower watt bulbs are used for lighting. Also, the sun is painful for Piggy's eyes and she will need goggles when traveling in the car. Because Piggy is an albino pup, she will not be able to enjoy the outside world like other dogs. Her skin and eye lids will burn easily due to the lack of pigment. Piggy is working on her puddle pad training and will need to remain on puddle pads for her life since she will not be able to go outside during the daylight hours. She will be able to explore outside during early sunrise and late sunset. Piggy is also making improvements with her hearing. We have noticed that she can now hear certain tones including some dog barks and high pitch tones. We are encouraged that her hearing will continue to improve as her ear bones mature but her hearing will never be perfect. Piggy is mentally sharp as a whip! She has no mental disabilities or delays that will need to be considered. With her vision intact, Piggy will be able to learn sign language as a form of communication. Piggy has been separated from her mom and is becoming a very independent little girl. She has full run of the house when her foster family is home and plays with her fur siblings for hours.

08/25/2013*** Hey great big world, my name is Little Piggy! Can you guess how I got my name? My foster mom and sister said I look like a baby pig and the name stuck. I was born on 07/14/2013 to my loving mom, Bonnie Blue. She is also up for adoption on this web site. You see I am the only surviving pup of three, and I'm very special. Not only am I my living baby that my momma has but am an albino puppy! My foster mom says that makes me one in a million!! Because I'm an albino, I am a special needs little girl. My hearing isn't very good you see, but my foster mom thinks over time it will improve a little. When my mom barks sometimes I turn my head, so there is something that is getting through. As my little ears develop the hearing may improve ... but I have to say not hearing the other dogs bark really lets a girl get her beauty sleep. Also, I have what they call small eyes. My eyes didn't form right while I was developing and they are little. They are ice blue! How pretty!! I can see, but my foster mom says I'll never drive a car or read a book.

With daily living though, you would never know I'm "special". It's just a label that people put on me, and I really believe I am special!! I play with my momma right now and can I bark and growl at her. My favorite toy is a white polor bear, and it looks just like me. I also sleep with my teddy bear which is my cuddle buddy. My foster mom is teaching me to go potty on the puddle pad.

You see, it's now time that I start considering which forever family I want to make my own when I'm ready to be adopted. My foster mom says I can't go anywhere for a while because I still need shots, spayed , and a microchip whatever those things are. I'll probably be ready for my new family at the end of September or maybe October. My foster mom wants to make sure I have a "good foundation" before I leave the nest.

I'm currently living in Pensacola, FL with my foster mom, Katie. You can call her at 850-748-9382 to get more informaton about me! My adoption fee is $200.00.

Wouldn't you consider a Little Piggy in your house!? I'm super sweet, and ready to give kisses!!
