My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name...my name is... is Oscar. I remember being with my sister and brothers and would play and have fun. When I was only 12 weeks old someone brought me to an animal shelter. I didn't know why I was all by myself, lonely, and really scared. I itched and would scratch until I had sores on me. I hurt so bad. I would see people come to the shelter and pass by me and say "poor thing". One day a lady saw me and stopped and talked to me. I was longing for her to pick me up and play with me, but she did not. I heard her ask the shelter worker what would happen to me...and he said I would more than likely be euthanized in a day or so as no one wanted to adopt me because I had mange and my skin sores got infected from scratching. I saw a look of hope in her eyes. Before you know it, she took me out of the shelter, took me to a veterinary office, and told me my new life would begin that day. The doctor said I had a very treatable condition and would make a full recovery. They gave me warm treatment baths which made me feel so much better. They started me on a medicine to get rid of my skin problem. I felt so loved and cared for. I slept so good and dreamed of the day when someone would want me as their own special puppy. As the days went by with my baths and treatments I began to feel happy and began to play like a puppy should play. They would take me outside and play with me and throw me toys. Today, I don't scratch anymore...my sores are gone....my hair has grown back. I am a healthy, happy, 4 month old Labrador Retriever pup needing a home to be loved and cared for and given lots of TLC. I hope someone would want me and give me a good, safe and happy home. I already love many people...the lady that saw something in me to save me... the doctor and staff that made me well... and I am ready to love you. Now I am proud and strong enough to say loudly and happily...my name is OSCAR and I am glad to be alive. If you think you have what it takes to give oscar a forever home please contact Ellen at doubledogellen@att.net right away and request an application to begin the adoption process. Oscar is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and microchipped. He is currently in MS and will be transported to CT upon adoption.
