Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Sweet lil' Perry. We nicknamed him Googles because of the cute markings around his eyes. This Lab/ Shepherd mix is about 10 months old and weighs about 33 lbs. Sadly, Perry has had a rough start in life. Although he was adopted as a young pup, his family soon grew tired of the responsibility and dumped him on the side of the road. Confused and bewildered, Perry wandered into the arms of a stranger who turned him into a high kill shelter. As a result, Perry was days or hours away from death, when a wonderful volunteer pulled him to safety and brought him into DDR. Perry's foster family tells us he is a super smart dog who picks up commands really quickly. He is described as a "cuddle bug" who loves to sit by your side..and even better...your lap! Perry's energy level is described as low to medium. He can be a typical puppy- full of energy and happy go lucky antics, but he also settles down nicely after some exercise. We think he would make an awesome walking/hiking buddy and a great companion to snuggle on the sofa with later. Perry is a bit timid in new situations or around dogs who show dominance. However, he would be a great companion for another dog, as he gets along well with his current foster's dogs. She tells us he is respectful to older dogs and boisterous with the younger ones. He just seems to be a great "dogs dog". Perry is house trained, can walk on a lead, and has learned basic commands. He is thriving in his foster's home and now it is time to find him his forever home. If you think you have what it takes to give Perry (aka. Goggles) an amazing life, then contact Ellen at doubledogellen@att.net right away to request an application and begin the adoption process. Perry is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He is currently in SC and will be brought to New England on 9/7. His adoption fee is $450
