My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

THIS IS GILDA....and when we pulled her out of the shelter, we didn't know what kind of dog she was! She has very short legs, is 15 lbs, liver and white, 3-4 yrs old and we believe her to be a Havanese Mix. Possibly, she wasn't to "standard" for the show ring, but that didn't stop them from breeding her and hoping her puppies were! She did come to the shelter with a gorgeous coat, albeit dissheveled, she is very gentle with people. She gets along with everyone, cats and kids included (over 8 yrs old please), but she is a bit alpha. Her foster told us she gets along okay with the other dogs, but we have seen her to be a little willful and not want to share your lap. When she first came to us, she was a little stubborn and nervous, but she has relaxed and really has come around. She is very smart and loving! She is a gem. One thing, if you leave her in the car, you will always be able to find her in the parking lot because she will bark to let you know where she is! She is quiet and calm for the most part and will lay by your side or your feet and be your loving companion. We haven't seen her play with toys yet, but she does love to give kisses when she knows you. Gilda has the most stunning, golden eyes and the cutest little walk....which she loves to do. For the most part, she seems to be potty trained, but no guarantees at your house. Everything takes a little time and patience! She would not be great in an apartment because if you leave her, she will bark a bit. Gilda is a very unusual looking dog, loving and happy. She would be fine with older kids and will make a loving family very happy.

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We want to give you the time you deserve, so please help us help you!! We will contact you once it has been reviewed.

Most Sundays, unless we are doing a special event, we are at Westfield Century City Mall from 12p-4pm behind the Concierge Booth near Brooks Bros. Park in the Orange Section in the parking structure and come up the escallator and follow the signage. You can see this, and many more, adorable pups at this weekly event! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!!! And don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on events we may be doing! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes.

Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption....and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.
