My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a friend and companion? Are you looking to stay healthy with daily walks? Do you enjoy a furry friend who likes to talk? Well then perhaps we should meet.

I am a Papillon-Chihuahua mix, about 18 Months old with the cutest ears and tail. I had a difficult start in life, but now I am doing better in my foster home where I bunk with a cat and another dog. We all get along well in this communal setting. I am learning to be a forward thinker and trying to forget my past.

The last 7 weeks have been great for me. I am learning how fun it is to be a dog. My walks are the highlights of my life. I push out my chest and wag my tail the entire walk. I enjoy staying in shape and for a smaller dog, I can walk a good distance. I can also perform three tricks, which I proudly will say, were easy to learn. I just watched my dog mate and voila, I was able to copy him. Sit, Dance and Stay.

I enjoy instigating play time with my dog mate after breakfast and after dinner. I think I bring out the best in him. You should see how happy we can be. I love to follow my people around. I enjoy car rides and ride well in my special crate. I enjoy going to the Pet Store and Home Depot. I like most dogs and am not bothered by cats (I do love cat food). The big dogs scare me at first, but I adjust with time and support. I am like the kid on the sidelines who wants to be put into the game. I do listen when you tell me not to bark. I don't get on the furniture as a small bed on the floor works for me.

We all have things in life we need to work on so here are mine: I get timid/scared with small children and am learning to be around them. I am slow to warm up to strangers, but once I know you, I will talk and let you pet me. I don't initiate being a lap dog, but if you pick me up and caress me, I will eventually melt in your arms. I don't really like when other dogs keep barking. When this happens I tend to retreat, shy away or try to get away from the noise.

My perfect match should be someone who likes to take walks, has patience to help bring out the best in me (I promise I will do the same for you),and one who enjoys having me at their side.

Please come check me out and see if we are a match. If you are interested in bringing me home to love me forever, please email dogtagyoureit@gmail.com.

Love and wags,
Bentley

PS: Yes, my ears are a little big for my head. . . I think this makes me cute.
