Gertie's Story...
Introducing...Gertie! Gertie is a 4 year old beagle/terrier mix with a lot of love to give! She is housebroken, crate trained, good with every person and dog she meets, and quiet for a beagle mix. She does well on leash, which is good because Gertie needs to lose some weight. She is currently on a weight loss regimen at a foster home and is doing great! She loves to go for walks, loves to explore outside, loves play dates with other dogs, loves to get her belly scratched, and, well, loves pretty much everyone and everything! That said, she is independent enough to entertain herself and does not need to be right next to you at all times. Gertie really is a sweet dog and deserves to find her forever home. Come meet Gertie and see if your family is the one to walk her off into the sunset and into a new life.

Gertie's adoption fee is $175 and covers the cost of her spay, vaccines, preventative medications, microchip and 30 day free trial pet insurance. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization and your adoption fee is a tax deductible contribution.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gertie, a Delaware Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Delaware, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Delaware.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Delaware already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Delaware breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Delaware paves the way for another one to be saved.
