My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mater is Adopted

Mater is currently being fostered in Painesville Ohio, and his adoption donation is $250

Mater is a beautiful 2 yr old male chocolate colored cocker spaniel.
He was adopted from our rescue about one year ago, and then returned to us because he was not good with the small children in the home.
He has been back in our rescue for about 3 weeks, and he is doing absolutely wonderful!!!!
We do believe that he was not happy in a home with small toddlers, so we are looking for an adult only home for him this time.

Mater is a great dog, since being in foster care, he has not had a single accident in the home, he does all of his business outside, and he is great with the 2 other cockers in the home.
They all get along very well, and play together, no incidents at all with Mater and other dogs.
We actually think he will do best with at least one other dog in the home, because he is more of a follower, and appears to be most comfortable with a "pack" leader.

He also does very well in a crate, he goes in at night and sleeps quietly all night long, he actually prefers to sleep in his crate.
Mater is not an overly affectionate cocker like most others, he will let you cuddle and hold him, but for the most part, he likes to just hang with the other dogs and play.
He does like to be around his person, and will follow his foster from room to room when she is home.
He also would do best in a home with a fenced in yard, as he can be a runner at times, so will need to be leashed at all times if not in a fenced in area.

Mater is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and is heartworm negative.

If you would like to adopt Mater or would like more information on him, please fill out an adoption application.
