Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Scooter’s story:
We rescued Scooter from a kill shelter where he was set to be euthanized for having FIV. Scooter is a handsome 3 year old male kitty who is both altered and front declawed. The expression on Scooter’s face says it all.
There is absolutely no reason to euthanize a cat who is FIV positive. Humans can not catch FIV. FIV kitties usually live long and healthy lives. It is very hard for a cat to pass this disease on to other cats. It is NOT contagious by touching the cat, using the same litter box, or sharing the same food dishes. The virus can spread ONLY through deep bite wounds and blood transfusions. FIV kitties are often overlooked by adopters out of fear. FIV kitties are just like any normal cat that will thrive in a home environment. FIV kitties don’t need any special treatment or medication. Many people have successfully introduced FIV positive and FIV negative kitties into their home with no impact on either cat’s heath.
Please give Scooter a chance. We think he deserves a wonderful forever home. One where he can be loved and not judged by society. If you are interested in adopting Scooter, please email us at contactbpcr@gmail.com
