Bandit's Story...
Bandit is a three year old large rabbit that is believed to be a Belgian hare mix. He stands at almost 15 and 1/2 inches tall, but he is a gentle giant. He has been neutered, and seen by a vet who says he is very healthy. He does have a bit of hair that is thin on the back of his neck, but it is unknown to the reason why. The vet believes it is not a result of any condition, and could be a result of previously being housed with another rabbit. Bandit is a very sweet rabbit, and he is great with small children, and other animals. He has a great personality, and he loves attention, and he loves to take walks outside. Bandit is good with other rabbits, animals, and children as well as adults. He would make a good pet around younger children. Bandit was surrendered to the rescue because his previous owner had a relative move in with the family, and he had a very bad allergy to Bandit. They were very sad to see him go, and they want him to find a loving home where he will be taken proper care of. Bandit is such a sweet boy who deserves a great home! Please consider that he will have to be housed in a larger cage due to his size. If you are willing to give Bandit a loving home please contact us at All of our rabbits have an adoption fee of $75 to help cover their spaying/neutering surgery. An adoption application is required, but the adoption is generally not a lengthy process. Thanks so much for considering adoption! Visit our website to see some of our other adoptable animals

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bandit, a Scotch Plains Belgian Hare was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Belgian Hare for sale in Scotch Plains, or seeking a Belgian Hare from a breeder in Scotch Plains.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scotch Plains already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scotch Plains breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Belgian Hare breeders who help with Belgian Hare rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scotch Plains paves the way for another one to be saved.
