Benny LongBoy's Story...
Benny is a cute, comical, short legged, big-headed mix breed puppy that was left at a park in the country. Age guess is about 8 months old. He is just a really sweet dog. He is very playful and likes to play with other dogs. He likes dog toys and will play fetch with you. He has about a medium energy level. Good pup: comes when called, walks well on a leash, house and crate-trained, rides well in a car. Very food motivated and easy to train. OK with cats. Friendly with children and ladies. Takes time for him to get use to strange men – treats helps. A sweet pup with a lot of love to give! Give him a chance!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benny LongBoy, a Groton Basset Hound/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Australian Shepherd for sale in Groton, or seeking a Basset Hound/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Groton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Groton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Groton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Basset Hound/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Groton paves the way for another one to be saved.
